  1. All our relations

    July 8, 2011 by Jaine

Today we are pleased to welcome another guest blogger to this space! Jess Bundy very kindly put in the highest bid for the last copy of our 2011 Earth Pathways Diary in the auction that we held recently. She was thrilled to win it, and donated the money raised in memory of her grandmothers Muriel Ward and Una Bundy. Over to you Jess……

In memory of Muriel Ward and Una Bundy

I was very inspired when I saw my teacher thumbing through her copy of the Earth Pathways Diary 2011. It looked like an expensive gleaming jewel enticing me to look inside. To anyone who was the slightest bit arty, creative or perhaps someone with just a mere whiff of earth connection would be immediately captivated by its pages. I managed to catch a glimpse of the title and web address and from that point I was smitten!I heard that someone somewhere had found the last ever copy of the Earth Pathways Diary for 2011. It was being auctioned and I wanted it. So I put in a bid. Of course I wanted to look inside and feast on the art work and words that adorned its pages. I also saw this as an opportunity to support a fantastic charity in memory of my grandmother Muriel Ward. Muriel passed away in November 2010 very sadly with dementia. She was 94 years old. (more…)

  2. Full Moon Front Cover…..

    May 18, 2011 by Jaine

Hello lovely Earth Pathways friends, how about a little Full Moon surprise to tempt your tastebuds?
We are finally able to officially share our 2012 diary FRONT COVER – it is a piece of stained glass by the very talented Tamsin Abbott – you can see more of her lush work here. We are all thrilled with it, and agree it is perfect for showing off another fantastic diary, with more of your artwork, photos, writings and poems to flow you through a pretty big year!
The team is quivering, literally, as we wait for the first copies to be sent to us hot off the press this week. Over the next little while our very own Brian Boothby (this year’s postie) will endeavour to send out the first copies to Moonshare holders, Contributors, and all of you who pre-ordered the diary.
Glennie will be at Glastonbury Festival launching our baby out into the world, and shortly after that you will see them in shops. The best way to make sure you nab the hottest property though is to visit our website and order direct…..which will make us smile. A lot.
So hope you all like it! Give us a thumbs up on Facebook, and stop by Tamsin’s website to see her work in all its splendor.
Happy full moon…and love to all of you celebrating lunar Beltaine xxx
P.S Will post a picture of our equally gorgeous back cover soon……promise!

  3. Last remaining copy (that we know of) of 2011 diary!

    April 19, 2011 by Debs

One of our friends has found and purchased what we believe to be the last remaining unused copy of the diary from a shop in Ashburton. We genuinely thought they were all gone so we are quite excited to have this copy and we want to give it a good send off ! We know there are many lovely people out there who were so keen to get a copy but missed out – so we have decided that we will have an online auction and the diary will go to the highest bidder. All of the profit made from the sale of the diary will go into the Seed Fund so boosting the fund which supports projects associated with helping the Earth.

So how about this for a plan – if you are interested in making a bid for the diary, contact us using the email contact form and in the comment box at the bottom, tell us how much you are prepared to pay to be the owner of this special diary. The best offer we receive by Beltane (May 1st) will be the winner.

Good luck everybody! Happy Beltane to you all and let the Beltane bidding commence…

(If you are not able to use the contact form for any reason, you can also contact us via admin@earthpathwaysdiary.co.uk though we would prefer you use the contact form if you can!)

  4. Harry models the new Earth Pathways Wrist Bands

    January 10, 2011 by Debs

Hello lovely Earth Pathways Fans! It falls to me, Harry Hotpants, once again, to keep you all informed about what’s happening in the Earth Pathways camp. My Mummy and my lovely Earthling Aunties are going so swoony over these new wrist bands that they’ve quite forgotten to update the blog. Plus, to be fair, they are working *really* hard on preparing the artwork and writing for the new 2012 Earth Pathways Diary, and there are an awful lot of adstrimination adminstriation ads-in-the-station administation paper-work jobs involved with keeping the diary going, so I think they could do with some help from yours truly. Even if I do struggle a little bit with big words. (more…)

  5. Hope you’re enjoying your new diaries everyone!

    January 1, 2011 by Debs

Well *OUR* New Year got off to a fine start last Monday when we all started using our 2011 Earth Pathways Diaries! Didn’t it?! I’m teasing, of course; there’s a whole year to savour the delights of the turning of the wheel of the year *and* the pages of the diary (so as to speak!). (more…)

  6. Tamara Wildebeast the Persistant…

    December 9, 2010 by Jaine

What a heroine….this week’s Earth Pathways prize must go to our very own Tam Peirson for being so utterly tenacious and determined in the face of so much white stuff.

She has battled up her track, donned skis, ridden sheep bareback, fashioned snow boots out of birch bark….and all to get those last Earth Pathways diaries sent out to you in time for Christmas! So from the rest of the team – THANKS TAM, YOU ARE A STAR!!! We really appreciate it XXXXX

Here’s a little sketch from Suzi for you Tam…

Keep up the great work sister!!

  7. Scaling the dizzy heights of stardom

    November 25, 2010 by Debs

OK, we can officially tell you all in ‘blog-land’ that our beloved Earth Pathways Diary has finally made it big time and has been awarded an accolade that any superstar would be proud of. “What?!” I hear you cry! “Have you been voted top diary of 2011 in the Sunday Times culture list? Have you been featured as the greenest, eco-est (I could be making up words here), positive-est (I’m DEFINITELY making up words here) diary of all time in the Waterstones ‘Must Have’ publications of 2011? Have you been asked to do an interview on the News Night Review now that the high(brow) and mighty recognise the cultural and intellectual impact the diary will make to thousands of lives accross the globe?”

We have arrived!Oh no, my ‘blog-land’ friends, it’s EVEN BETTER THAN THAT. While walking through Stroud High Street I noticed that we were mentioned (admittedly right at the bottom) of the MADE IN STROUD SHOP BLACKBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes, we’re there! Anyone who is ANYONE shops in the Made in Stroud shop. Well, anyone who is anyone in Stroud, that is.

I feel proud, anyway. So much so that I was prepared to ignore the weird looks I got as I chortled away to myself while taking photos of blackboards in Stroud High Street. I’m just waiting for the OBE letter now……

  8. What *really* happens at meetings

    November 12, 2010 by Harry

Hello everyone, it’s Harry here! I haven’t written on the blog before but I thought it was time to introduce myself and give you a different perspective on what happens when my lovely Aunties meet up for diary talks. My wonderful Aunty Jaine (I love, ♥, love her!) has given her version of events below. Here’s mine. (more…)

  9. Bigger picture

    by Jaine

An exciting and challenging week for the Earth Pathways team – we are gathered at my house in Stroud for our big meet. A chance to catch up, fizz ideas together, brainstorm and share the most delicious food.

Normally we are scattered between Essex, Kent, West Wales, Northumberland, Derbyshire and Wiltshire – each of us beavering away doing our different jobs, pinging emails back and forth – sometimes frantic, sometimes hilarious, often supportive and sisterly. I love these wild women, and it is the most vibrant of times when they upsticks and journey all the way to Stroud to visit.

It is often the small details of the diary that make my heart beat faster – a piece of artwork with a secret story, writing that changes pathways, an email from a reader singing encouragement and gratitude. But it is the bigger picture that inspires – as we start off our 2012 edition we are filled with bubbling up hope and creativity, a sprinkle of naughtiness, and the lovely feeling of having already produced three diaries so far, that people have told us they love.

I am ending a full, heartfelt and chocolate fuelled day with a group of women who always amaze me with their energy, truthfulness and an enormous will to carry on…..so watch this space….here comes the 2012, and the Seed Fund (more of that another time), and who knows what other delicious things……

and all under the Chandalier of All Loveliness. Perfect.

  10. My Love, the Elder….

    October 20, 2010 by Jaine

Hi all you lovely fans of the Earth pathways Diary….. glennie here

This week I have been busy trying to decide what submissions to send in for the 2012 Diary…. All of the Earth Pathways team submit their own work for the great voting process just the same as everyone else…… (Submissions need to be with Jaine by the 31st October  so the count down is on!)
But there are so many possibilities, from photos, to writing about the many things that move me, delight me, and inspire me…… I have songs and poems and pieces of artwork…….. I wonder what to choose…… only 5 too! However can I decide?

Recently I have had a love affair with the Elder Tree and everyday I sang to the Elder trees while gathering baskets filled with gorgeous ripe plump Elderberries. These all have to be plucked from the stems. The recipe books say with a fork but I love to do it with my hands, feeling the soft fullness of each berry, sending my Love and thanks to bless them most royally. For days my fingers were stained a deep rich purpley red that made me very happy – I don’t know why!! Elderberries are renown for throwing off colds in the winter and boosting the immune system. I made many jars of Elderberry tincture, a wonderful dark rich Elderberry syrup and 2 gallons of Elderberry wine which is gently plopping away on my table.

I took photos of the makings and may decide to submit these, along with recipes

Here is a photo of the lovely red stalks after I’d picked the Elderberries off

And one of the brew boiling up to make the wine

And this, the mush after I had made the syrup

……..And jars of syrup. This is supposed for be for my granddaughter, Evie Rose, (who is 3), as we can’t give her the tincture because of the alcohol, but it is so delicious that my 18 year old daughter May and I keep having a naughty swig…. Good job I made lots! And it will keep our immune systems boosted up nicely!
